Police Clearance Certificate
All applications for a police clearance certificate MUST be submitted through the online portal at e-citizen.
- Sign in to your account or create one through the portal
- Access the Directorate of Criminal Investigations option and select “Certificate of Good Conduct”
- Read the instructions and fill in the provided form (Note: Adults can apply for their minor children (Under 18 years).
- Select area/location for providing biometrics (fingerprints).
- Select mode of payment.
- After the completion of payment, download and print two (2) copies of the provided invoice and one (1) copy of the C24 form, double-sided on an A4-Sized paper.
- Present the C24 form and invoices along with your original and double sided copy of your National ID card and Passport to the Embassy of Kenya in Madrid (or as per the choice of location selected in the application).
- Applicants must consent to the record of their finger and palm prints on the prescribed C24 form.
- Thereafter, the application is forwarded to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations for processing of the Certificate. Once ready, the certificate can be downloaded from applicants’ e-citizen accounts and forwarded to the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs for legalization through e-citizen.

- Note: Duration for issuance of Police Clearance Certificate is six to eight weeks.
- The process of translating and legalizing documents may take up to two (2) weeks.
- It is NOT mandatory to translate and legalize documents at the Embassy. Applicants may opt to seek the services of a sworn and registered translator in Spain.
- Payment of the application fee does not guarantee that a Police Clearance Certificate will be issued.
