Requirements:
  1. Proof that the deceased person was a Kenyan e.g. Original Passport, Birth Certificate.
  2. A locally issued burial and/or transit permit.
  3. Certified copy of the Death Certificate.
  4. A letter from the local health authority certifying that the deceased did not die of contagious disease.
  5. Proof of sealable casket is recommended.
  6. A letter from the Director of funeral home stating how the body was embalmed.
  7. Provide residential address and telephone number for the return of your documents by the courier services.
  8. Upon receipt of the above documents, the Embassy will issue a letter of no objection for the remains to be transported to Kenya.
  9. No fee is charged for the service.
Requirement for transporting ashes to Kenya
  1. Copy of death certificate.
  2. Certificate from the crematorium.
  3. Certificate issued by the funeral director confirming that the contents are nothing but the remains and is not mixed with anything else.
  4. Copy of Kenyan passport/ birth certificate or any acceptable form of identification of the deceased.
  5. Telephone number of next of kin or contacts in Spain.
  6. No fee is charged for the service.
  • Note: Duration for issuance of no objection letter for repatriation of a deceased Kenyan is one day.
